Novelty Prints and how to wear them

We love solids, and we love patterns! Nothing is quite as dainty and feminine as a floral pattern, nothing says summer like gingham or winter like tartan and houndstooth, but there is a special place in our hearts for novelty prints. Each different novelty print tells a special story, so we picked our four favourite prints and styled them into spicy and sweet summer looks!

First up is the Skull Roses, a deliciously dark print featuring, of course, skulls and roses. We kept to the main colour theme on the dress when choosing the accessories. This is perhaps the easiest way to style novelty or any other kind of multi-colour print.  Earrings from The Black Cat Jewellery Store.

For Treasure Hunt we went with simple monochrome accessories, but keeping with the nautical theme of the dress itself. A good complementary colour here would be blue, but we decided to keep it neutral. 

Next up is Sugar Skull, a beautiful and playful pattern on a charming sweetheart neckline dress. Since the dress itself is mostly black and nude/tan with just a few splashes of reds and blues, we chose the blue from the dress as a base for the colour of our accessories. 

Our last is the Scary Tiki Suki dress, with an unusual, horror-themed twist on the traditional tiki motifs. Here we chose to go with both the complementary colour- pink for the shoes and the hair flower, and to pick a colour off the dress (brown) for the accessories.
