Evening Winter Wardrobe

With the cold evenings upon us it can be hard to imagine what to wear on a night out other than an oversized jumper!  Fear not, we have put together a few key looks to keep you feeling fancy.  They can be worn with cute tights, a warm coat or even a posh hat.

You can't go wrong with navy,  this slim fit Vanessa Wiggle dress is sexy yet has a festive feel with a bit of red contrast with the belt and ruched crossover bust.  We teamed with the matching accessories, a faux leather coat and a slip on heel all featured on our Polyvore pages.

Off to the theatre or panto this Christmas?  Then we have the perfect ensemble for you.  This elegant Bella Teal Swing Dress by  Lindy Bop can be dressed up or down.  We have paired it with a modern clutch, suede peep-toes and evening shawl but could also work for the annual mum school get-together with lippy and a pair of pumps.

If cute prints or characters are your thing,  then we have this beautiful Audrey Owl Print Swing Dress, combine various winter styles to pick up the  colours on this dress to give you 5 different outfits.

All dresses featured are available on www.rockabillypinup.co.uk.

Frockabilly Heaven!

With the long Summer days upon us we have been enjoying every drop of sunshine thrown our way!  Dresses, tie tops, capri trousers and accessories have been styled and swapped to give us something exciting to wear everyday.

We have selected a few of our favourite frocks to wear while enjoying al fresco dinner, cocktails or a luncheon at a beach cafe.

Fresh and floral the Bernice 50's Swing dress is covered in tulips, the button detail adds shape to the sweetheart neckline and thin straps show off the shoulders.

The Carla dotty red and black dress is a stunning swing dress, the fitted bodice is flirty and feminine while the polkadot skirt is flared and fun, perfect for a dinner date.

Red hot Bette Stripe dress is bold and bright, this little beauty is perfect for a day at the seaside, think sand between your toes and the salty sea mist in your hair followed by fish and chips.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

There are few films as iconic as the Rocky Horror Picture show.  Nobody who saw it stepped out of the theatre or away from the screen as they were before, and the songs worm their way into your mind forever.
RHPS showings bring together people from a variety of backgrounds to enjoy and participate in the screenings and the shows, and as such is a unique cultural phenomenon. It was, of course, just a question of time when we’ll be attending a show and want to do our own version of the famous dress-up.
Being of a rockabilly and pinup persuasion, we naturally added our own twist to the iconic costumes.

Dammit Janet is for the sweet, sweet ladies… well, almost. The innocence of the deery me dress and the demure cardigan and jewellery are brought into question when you take one look at the platform heels.

Time Warp is very tongue in cheek. We’re not ones for button up shirts, but we honour the occasion with a lovely black and white polka dot top, cigarette pants that are almost formal, and two-tone saddle shoes. The cherry on top are the clock-hand earrings.

I can make you a man is our take on the iconic scrubs and pink gloves scene. We prefer form flattering dresses and our latex in a more shapely form, but satin opera gloves and show girl platforms will indeed bring out the man, or creature of the night in your object of desire.

Hot Patootie is the perfect homage to the bad and the mad boy RHPS.  Who could resist an outfit of sleek black paired with animal print and accented with bright red details?

What is your favourite RHPS moment? We’d love to hear from you! As always, you can view all our sets on Polyvore

April Showers

Bring May flowers!  Everyone knows that one, right? But what to do and what to wear when those showers can just pop out of nowhere and be gone in a matter of minutes?  Well, after the second ruined hair and wet dress, we decided to sit down and come up with some ideas, because we refuse to spend our April days running around in wellies and a plastic raincoat on the off chance it rains.

Pink Tulips bloom all over this this lovely spring themed skirt. A pink umbrella and platforms will keep the rain away from you and provide lovely accents to the skirt. We kept the top simple, with a flattering sweetheart neckline, and added flower-shaped earrings. What a beautiful way to welcome spring!

Dangerous kitty has no fear of bad hair days rocking this awesome bandana. We kept the colours to red and black, with skinny jeans and creepers giving you that old school slim silhouette, and a classical red top with swallows. The laser-cut kitty earrings and black bangles give it a bit more modern feel you can rock everywhere.

Cream Tea(l) has the teal dress taking centre stage, with the rest of the accessories serving only to accentuate the bright and strong colour and the flattering ladylike cut.  The matching ring gives an additional accent to the hands, and the lipstick is kept creamy and flesh-coloured.

Rain Jewel builds up on the black wiggle dress with deep rich ruby and emerald tones. No need to control you frizz when you can just wear a turban and let the rest of your hair be its glorious rain-kissed self, and when all eyes will be drawn to your deep ruby lips and the wiggle in your step!
