You Animal!

Can we ever get enough of novelty prints?
Well, no, not really! There is something about them that cheers us up immensely! They are full of life and creativity and just oh so fun!
We rounded up our favourite prints from the animal world this month to suggest four vivacious outfit ideas!

Our first set, Flamingo Fracas, deserves that name! Bold colours and an even bolder print make this dress stand out. We paired it with a cute and cheeky accessories for that perfect summer style.

Poodles are an essential vintage print, and we've been in love with this dress ever since we first saw it. It is vintage without being costumey, and the cut is timeless and elegant.
Poodle Pandemonium indeed!

Puffin Perturbation is just so darn sweet! I mean, is there anyone who doesn't like puffins? And this sweet turquoise dress is just perfect for spring and early summer!

We saved the Butterfly Bustle for last. We just can't get over how amazing the combo of a black base and classical cut goes with this gorgeous playful butterfly and floral pattern. Adding any other colour to your ensemble except the ones already on the dress would be a sin in our book!

Femmes fatales

There is nothing quite like the femme fatale! It is the other side of the vintage coin- and one that is equally alluring to all vintage loving gals. There is something especially fun about being a bad girl, even if it is for just a day (or night). It’s a new and unexpected freedom, and a different way of self-expression. This time we are celebrating the bad girls - the vamps, the femmes fatales, the ones from the wrong side of the track!
We’re kicking it off with The poisoner - Dressed in black from toe to head, with a full moon applique skirt and a daring top, and jewellery that labels her as poison, she is indeed something quite different and special, and to be handled with care!

Deadly sweet is anything but the girl next door. In tight capris and a skull-cherrynecklace, she’ll lure you to your doom with a wink behind her paper parasol.  We also played around with the nautical theme, perfect for the warm summer days and luring sailors to their doom.

Vicious is one dangerous lady. In a bold red dress and high heels, she may look as pretty as an orchid, but remember that orchids are one dangerous, seductive flower! And if you get too close, you’ll see that the heart she wears around her neck is black as night.

And we left our Spider’s kiss for last. She wears her darkness proudly with a spider web skirt and jewellery from the gothic shop. It’s the best of both worlds! She’s our nod to the Gothabilly- a perfect blend of rockabilly and goth.

Which one of these is your favourite?

Don’t forget you can find all of these sets on our polyvore site too!

Frockabilly Heaven!

With the long Summer days upon us we have been enjoying every drop of sunshine thrown our way!  Dresses, tie tops, capri trousers and accessories have been styled and swapped to give us something exciting to wear everyday.

We have selected a few of our favourite frocks to wear while enjoying al fresco dinner, cocktails or a luncheon at a beach cafe.

Fresh and floral the Bernice 50's Swing dress is covered in tulips, the button detail adds shape to the sweetheart neckline and thin straps show off the shoulders.

The Carla dotty red and black dress is a stunning swing dress, the fitted bodice is flirty and feminine while the polkadot skirt is flared and fun, perfect for a dinner date.

Red hot Bette Stripe dress is bold and bright, this little beauty is perfect for a day at the seaside, think sand between your toes and the salty sea mist in your hair followed by fish and chips.

April Showers

Bring May flowers!  Everyone knows that one, right? But what to do and what to wear when those showers can just pop out of nowhere and be gone in a matter of minutes?  Well, after the second ruined hair and wet dress, we decided to sit down and come up with some ideas, because we refuse to spend our April days running around in wellies and a plastic raincoat on the off chance it rains.

Pink Tulips bloom all over this this lovely spring themed skirt. A pink umbrella and platforms will keep the rain away from you and provide lovely accents to the skirt. We kept the top simple, with a flattering sweetheart neckline, and added flower-shaped earrings. What a beautiful way to welcome spring!

Dangerous kitty has no fear of bad hair days rocking this awesome bandana. We kept the colours to red and black, with skinny jeans and creepers giving you that old school slim silhouette, and a classical red top with swallows. The laser-cut kitty earrings and black bangles give it a bit more modern feel you can rock everywhere.

Cream Tea(l) has the teal dress taking centre stage, with the rest of the accessories serving only to accentuate the bright and strong colour and the flattering ladylike cut.  The matching ring gives an additional accent to the hands, and the lipstick is kept creamy and flesh-coloured.

Rain Jewel builds up on the black wiggle dress with deep rich ruby and emerald tones. No need to control you frizz when you can just wear a turban and let the rest of your hair be its glorious rain-kissed self, and when all eyes will be drawn to your deep ruby lips and the wiggle in your step!

Oh Kitten!

Oh Kitten!
Hell Bunny’s S/S collection is full of kittens this year! The pattern comes in two base colours- black and pale blue, and they feature kittens, petals, hearts and flowers in violet, white and pink. Frankly, we were head over heels even before we saw the kittens are all wearing bows!
Of course, we had to get our hands on some of their designs immediately, as they embody everything we love about vintage: They are cute and feminine, and just a bit playful and sassy!  All it takes to improve our mood during the day is one look down at our skirts or dresses and those adorable kittens!   The designs and pattern are so versatile and easy to match, we put together four kitty-themed outfit ideas for you to enjoy!

We named the first one Soft Kitty, as it features the skirt in pale blue, and we matched it with a pink cardigan for a very dainty, very feminine look. It is both gentle and elegant, and we kept the jewellery to a minimum with only a pair of floral earrings.

Pink kitten is a somewhat bolder look, with a black dress guaranteed to show off your figure in the best possible light. We went with hot pink and black accessories and makeup, in order to accentuate the cat theme, and complement the bolder colours of the print.

The Wildcat is possibly our favourite.  There is just something about combining a pastel dress with darker, bolder colours that always catches our eye.  We also love the good-girl-turning-bad vibe that comes from combining a full circle dress and leather.

Lovecat happened when we decided to make the kitten print more formal, and more adult. We paired it with a black top and darker lipstick, and matched the pattern’s purple and pink tones with makeup and pearly drop earrings.
