The Vintage Tea Dress- Why every gal needs one!

You don't need us to tell you that dresses come in all shapes and sizes. Just as individual as we are, many of us have a favorite style of dress. Perhaps it flatters your best assets? Maybe you just adore the fit of it? But there are many reasons why the tea dress is a must have!

The tea dress was predominantly worn during the 1940's and 50's. The below the knee length of skirt as well as the chic blouse upper are mainly what marked out this style from the rest. Perfect for afternoon tea parties as well as weddings, many considered the dress to be the epitome of fashion. But it's a style of dress that makes a statement to this very day. Firstly the tea dress is a flattering one, whether you happen to be on the curvy side or not. It can come with as much or as little detail as you wish- most of all it is feminine!

The tea dress can be made out of any material, however it is the light and floaty fabrics that are favoured. Here a Chiffon-like fabric is put to great use, there is a slight flare at the skirts edge and at the bust. But it also fits snugly when pulled in at the waist. The puffed sleeves and tie collar give the Cynthia Polkadot dress true vintage glamour. A wonderful outfit for any summer outdoor event, team with any one of our cropped cardigans during those cooler evenings too.

Speaking of all things summer, the Gold Floral and Herons Tea Dress is the outfit to be seen in this summer. With a sensual plunging neckline and fitted silhouette, First impressions made with this outfit will be the best! There's a flattering wraparound feel to this outfit, the fitted skirt and pinched in waist offer the ideal hourglass figure. It's the Oriental inspired print that make this piece stand out. Chrysanthemums are set among flying herons all mixed in with exquisite gold detailing. No added extras are needed with this chic little number, simply wear and go for effortless elegance.

While some styles of tea dress can be demure and feminine, there's nothing stopping the dress from making a statement. There's all the delicate feminine patterning with a very sassy style. It's the details that make the difference with any tea dress: Sweetheart neckline complete fold down collars are just one way the vintage is brought to life. Straps make this an ideal little wiggle dress for any occasion. Team with shrug for an exquisite ensemble for any time of year.

Whether it's an evening soiree or a lunch date with the girls, the tea dress is the way to go!
