Bring Rockabilly to the home!

The quintessential Rockabilly outfit is a very sexy and stylish one. It is designed to fit all our curves and flatter our assets. We love the brave colours and the fun and cute motifs: Take those anchors and swallows as your prime examples! Timeless and above all a classic style that fits everyone regardless of size or frame. But is it possible to get that same great look for the home? Well here at Rockabilly Pin Up we offer a great range of home wares too, everything from quirky shower curtains to cute oven mittens. A super way to bring this awesome retro look to your abode! Take a look at some of the ways one can bring Rockabilly to the home:

Marina Kai Tattooed Mermaid shower curtain by Sourpuss
What better way to shower than with a tattooed mermaid keeping watch? New in is this elaborated decorated shower curtain from Sourpuss. It's in that great tattoo style that we all know and love. Take a look at the finer details too, there are some great Rockabilly motifs there too. Skull and cross bones as well as hearts, cherries and bolts of lightening. This shower curtain is bound to brighten up the dullest of bathrooms bringing that true Rockabilly style to the home.

Blue doughnuts and teapots kitchen set

Call it 'kitsch', 'kawaii' or just plain 'cute'! This kitchen set is an absolute must for the Rockabilly home. It comes complete with neat tidy design. The blue and white make this very stylish and ready to fit into practically any kitchen area. Take a look closer and one will find cups and saucers as well as teapots and doughnuts covering the over mitt and pot holder. Whether it is a gift for one self of for a loved one who adores that morning cup of tea- the Blue doughnuts and teapots kitchen set will make a wonderful addition to the home.

Blue Swallow on Black Velvet Cushion
Swallows are motifs that really do represent all things Rockabilly. Find them on tattoos, pretty prints on dresses as well as on hairclips. And now on this sweet velvet cushion too! This detailed pillow will work great alone as a single statement cushion, place it among the rest of your cushions to bring a rockabilly theme to the living room. One or two could work well on the larger seats. Not only has this little cushion got bags of style but it also is one of the most comfiest around! Made from softest velvet, there is a black piping that finished off the edges. This statement piece will certainly bring the Rockabilly to your living room in a subtle and very chic way.

Cupcake Picnic Tea Towel
Add to the rest of your Rockabilly kitchen with this very quaint tea towel. This design proves that less certainly is more! The detailed 1950's cupcake design sits on top of  very Rockabilly pink gingham base. Perfect for the summer on those great picnics, use your pink gingham tea towel in the winter to brighten and warm up those cooler kitchens!

Vintage Hen Do

Last weekend I attended a Vintage themed hen party as the bride-to-be adores pinup, burlesque and vintage tea parties, so this creative retro-inspired hen do was a wonderful revival of rockin' tunes, tea (and cocktails), cakes and 50's swing dresses from Rockabilly Pinup

While the Lipstick and Curls talented mobile styling team were armed with curling tongs, hairspray and makeup to bring pinup glamour back, creating Victory rolls, red lips and bold seductive eyes for everyone at the party in the comfort of our home in South West London.(Great, as it was pouring with rain)

I felt this was a great way to introduce the guests to Rockabilly styling as some of the girls were new to the look and really loved the sleek hairdo's and bright fun makeup and sexy dresses.

After all the ladies were beautifully dolled up and few fun snaps, we sat down to create our own vintage themed
cupcakes with the bride-to-be under the watchful eye of Nel Rennison owner of www.thepapercupkitchen.co.uk.

Followed by Afternoon Vintage Tea  including open finger sandwiches, warm scones with homemade jam, lemon curd and Cornish clotted cream, a selection of English traditional cakes and special teas served in beautiful china which was hired from Prim and Proper Vintage.

We then decided to hit the town for some more cocktails and a bit of dancing and much to everyone's delight not a flashing willy in sight…(ok maybe some crazy glasses but that's it!).

So if you are looking for something new to try or just want to introduce your friends to your style this is a great way to have some fun and look amazing!
